Whoa...here it is nearing Tuesday already. Time is flying by and in a perfect world, updating a blog would be easy. I am finding internet very slow--but it seems to be everywhere. Could it be all the people in this city that are bogging it down? At any rate, I'm really not finding the time to upload the photos etc. I would like to. I guess it will all have to wait until we get home.
We had a busy day today....starting with a walk downtown at 8 am to catch a glimpse --and a photo-- with Jeff Hutchison of Canada AM. Gerry and I watched the massive line at the Bay, waiting to get in for Olympic goods...then took a ride around the city on the "sky train" which is basically an above ground subway. Then we met Rae and Emery for lunch at White Spot before heading to the Aboriginal Arts Pavillion where we visited with Jasyn Lucas who I did an article on last summer. Next we stood in line to get into Live City which was actually quite a short line...however...once inside, we bit the bullet and stood in line for TWO HOURS to see the Stanley Cup. Of course, we got our photo taken with it, also got to hold an Olympic Torch and played with a couple of photos by a bobsled. From there, we took off on the bus to the Pacific Coliseum just in case we could snag tickets for ice dance finals. That wasn't going to happen...unless we wanted to pay $250...which was the lowest price we could find...next time I just might!!! Anyway, back downtown (got off the bus at East Hastings, near Potter's Mission--wicked homeless area!) and transferred to another to get to "The Cambie Bar" where we felt quite at home...sort of a reminder of the old "red dog" days! LOL But we saw Canada win gold, walked back up to Robson and accidentally timed it just right to get there on time for the beautiful light show! The crowds there were crazy! So huge! Unbelievable. It's hard to really capture what it is like there. People chanting, "Go Canada" and others joining in all down the street. Singing. Dancing. People running and screaming and dressed in crazy Canada costumes. Yep. Pretty nuts....anyway we have an early day getting out to the curling venue in the morning. Should be fun!
Will try to post photos soon....actually I'll try do one or two now from a few days ago!

Here's me and Kate the Intern when she was in the zipline lineup...and here's Gerry getting an autograph from Theo Fleury....

See ya soon!
